Being a therapist is a great honor as I join individuals and families as they journey toward a happier and more harmonious life. Supporting individuals and families as they work to overcome obstacles in connecting to themselves and one another makes every day fulfilling.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Washington (LF60664790). I have a Master's of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University, Seattle, Washington and a Bachelor's in Science in Psychology from North Dakota State University. I am certified by the state of Washington as a Child Mental Health Specialist and a Mental Health Professional as well as a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. While working in the Child Advocacy Program through Compass Health, I received advanced training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy while working exclusively with children who had disclosed sexual abuse.
My particular area of expertise is in working with women who are dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, relational issues, perinatal mental health, and phase of life transitions and teenagers to improve symptoms of depression, anxiety, inattention, boundary setting within the family, trauma, and self-esteem.
Using a systemic approach in the treatment of individuals and families means we would explore your concerns in terms of your relationship with yourself, with others and within your social environment. I utilize a systemic approach in treatment of families and individual, meaning I explore the identified concerns in terms of relationships, including your relationship to yourself, and social environment. I work collaboratively with my clients to construct a new narrative of the problem as a guide toward action and change utilizing Play Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
